Celebrating Fathers

A mountain top experience at SAC Camp Meeting 2025 did not stop Ebenezer Seventh-day Adventist Church from celebrating Fathers a week later on Sabbath June 22, 2025. Two (2) fathers were honored; Bro. Deago Brown and Bishop Darrell K. Butler. Bro. Ebenezer Father of the Year, Bro. Brown a US Veteran and faithfully serves as church deacon, husband and father to six (6) children. Community Father of the Year, Bishop Butler a US Veteran (Ret. Command Sargent Major) and is the founder and overseer of Bethel Community Apostolic Churches in Augusta GA. Pastor Dr. Jamie Kowlessar, guest speaker delivered a thought provoking and impactful message ‘When fractured Fathers find healing’ based on Mark 9:14-27. The focus on fathers continued during an afternoon workshop hosted by Dr. Kowlessar where he shared insights enabling churches to stand up for marginalized communities whilst proclaiming the gospel of Christ.
