SAC serves approximately 700 students and includes 27 schools. SAC is the fourth largest school district in Southern Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The Southern Union covers the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
The Role of the Office of Education
The South Atlantic Conference Office of Education’s (SACOE) main goal is to ensure and support the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church through the left arm of the gospel – education. Thus SACOE works diligently to ensure that the Adventist philosophy of education and its principles of faith and learning are integrated into each of its schools. As such, SACOE is the legal hiring organization for all school-based personnel within SAC. SACOE promotes effective curriculum development, the use of authentic formative and summative assessments, ongoing professional growth activities, formal evaluation of instructional personnel, and publishes the annual wage scale for prekindergarten though grade 12 educational personnel.
