Ministry Description
The Office of the President is an Executive Office of the South Atlantic Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (“SAC” or “the Conference”), being one of the four elected Executive Officers.
The President works in consultation with fellow Officers to perform the duties and functions of the office as outlined below.
Executive Officers Chain of Command The President is the First (1st) Officer of the Conference, followed by the Executive Vice President, the Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer, and the General Vice President, in that order.

3. Duties and Functions of the President
A. Fulfill the Professional Expectations for Departmental Directors
B. Strategic Leadership – Provide oversight of the work of God within the Conference territory, in harmony with the Conference’s Strategic Plan
C. Oversee the work of the pastoral team, giving emphasis to carrying out the pastoral functions, professional expectations, and competency to nurture the flock of God and the winning of souls through community engagement and evangelism
D. In collaboration with the Vice President for Pastoral Ministries, supervise and encourage all district pastors with less than 25 years of service to fulfil complete a minimum of three (3) hours of Continuing Education Units each year
E. Coordinate the work of the Departmental Directors, ensuring that the Conference’s strategic objectives are realized as scheduled
F. Consistently and frequently cast the vision of the SAC and its mission
G. Provide leadership development for ADCOM, office team, and field employees in understanding, accountability, judgment, biblical principles, and work efficiency
H. Address Congregational Concerns – Assist churches and pastors with concerns, delegating cases to the Executive Vice President, General Vice President, or Vice President for Pastoral Ministries in the interest of timely crisis response
I. Plan with ADCOM for the installation of new and interim pastors
J. Work with administrative team on Church and Company organization, ordination, and other special events (i.e., church dedications, groundbreaking, etc.)
K. Ensure personnel selection and placement that is consistent with the SAC mission,
vision, and values
L. Ensure financial budgets and stability
M. Consistently apply and follow conference and denominational policies and principles of the Church Manual and safeguard SAC interests
N. Provide church conflict resolution ministry by applying the SAC Conflict and Dispute Resolution Protocol, either personally or by appointing designees
