SAC Legacy Ministries (SACLM) serves the unique needs of active and former denominational employees and family members who have served directly and indirectly in the furtherance of the Church’s mission, and who currently reside within the SAC territory. SACLM facilitates effective retiree relations, support of surviving spouses, and the well-being of workers’ kids.

Legacy Ministries Emphasis

SAC Legacy Ministries is a function of the Office of the General Vice President.

A. The Legacy Ministries Committee (LMC) includes:
1. General Vice President, Chair
2. Vice President for Education, Vice Chair
3. Vice President for Pastoral Ministries, Vice Chair
4. Vice President for Education
5. Human Resources Director
6. Human Resources Assistant (SACLM Committee Secretary)
7. Communication Director
8. Senior Ministry Coordinator
9. Family Ministries Director
10. Family Ministries Associate Director
11. Youth & Young Adult Ministries Director

B. Legacy Ministries plans and schedules initiatives to provide spiritual, social, and other practical modes of nurture in the following ministry contexts and for the benefit of:

1. Retiree Relations (for retired denominational workers who currently reside within the South Atlantic Conference territory)

• Pastors
• Educators
• Support Staff
• Departmental Directors
• Adventist Book Center Staff
• Campground Staff

2. Surviving Spouses (widows and widowers of deceased full-time and part-time employees who currently reside within the conference territory)

3. Workers’ Kids (includes the children of active, retired, former, deceased workers who currently reside within the conference territory)

Ministry Execution

Legacy Ministries shall function as follows
A. Committee Meetings – Meet at least quarterly to consider beneficiaries ministry needs
B. Ministry Events – Plan, promote, and host events to meet the needs of the target groups
C. Encourage and Nurture – Collaborate with local churches through pastors to ensure the spiritual, social, and material well-being of ministry beneficiaries, and provide support and connectivity through regular official communication of SAC news and events
